Foundation and History
Since 15th November 2005 all advice given by the firm in Singapore is rendered by Thümmel, Schütze & Partners LLP, which was registered as independent entity. It generally concentrates on issues of German and
South East Asian corporate law, international commercial law, international
banking law, labour law in Germany and South East Asia as well as representation
in court and arbitration proceedings in all matters relating to South
East Asia, Germany or the European Union. Legal advice rendered to clients
is usually related to one of the following topics:
- incorporation of subsidiaries, registration of
branches and representative offices;
- contracts (mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures
and other corporate agreements, distributorship and agency agreements,
employment, technology transfer and licence agreements, general conditions);
- intellectual property (registration of patents
and marks, unfair competition, computer and media);
- immigration (application for work and general
residential permits);
- representation in and counselling on litigation
and arbitration before state courts and arbitral tribunals.
The success of doing business in Asia and with Asians
is mainly based on mutual trust and confidence and, therefore, long
established personal relationships. Over the last twenty years TSP
has worked to build relationships with government bodies, authorities,
economic organisations and renowned local law firms in all commercial
centres in Asia. 1999 the service company TSP Corporate Services Pte Ltd was established. The company is headed by German and local lawyers. It renders supplementary services in the area of corporate secretarial matters and acts as trustee
in particular in cases requiring direct participation of a local partner.
