Thümmel, Schütze & Partner (TSP) is a medium-size commercial law firm with four offices in Germany and two offices abroad. Since its establishment in 1973 at Stuttgart the firm has grown steadily and today comprises more than 50 lawyers and one notarial office.

Already at very early stages the firm has positioned itself internationally. In 1981, TSP became the first German law firm to establish an office in Singapore which since then has experienced a very prosperous development and which offers clients also the legal access to the markets Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. In the late 1980s the branch in Brussels was opened.

At the same time there had been a further expansion within Germany. Shortly after the fall of the Berlin wall TSP opened its branch office in Berlin which has established excellent contacts in the German capital since then. Shortly thereafter the branch office in Dresden, an economically prosperous center within former East Germany, was opened. The firm's area of activity and clients' demands also required a presence in the banking and commercial center of Frankfurt am Main where a branch office of the firm was established in 1994.

Over the years, the firm has participated in numerous prominent commercial settlements, restructurings, mergers and commercial litigation by legal advice, negotiation, opinions or as party representative in court. Several partners of the firm have consistent practice as party representative or arbitrator in institutional and ad-hoc, domestic and international arbitration.

The client structure of the firm corresponds to its services and its international work: Amongst the firm's clients are large and medium-sized corporations in different lines of business having its seat in Germany or abroad, private equity funds, banking institutions and insurance companies.

Since its establishment the firm has built up contacts with foreign law firms and thus is able to offer an international service. The close personal contacts and experience with foreign colleagues enable TSP to find the appropriate partner for each client.

Due to the firm's strong international position all lawyers have an excellent command of the English language. In addition, TSP offers legal advice in French, Italian and Spanish.

Regardless of each office's location and the lawyers' specialization TSP considers itself a law firm which offers first class legal advice combined with individual counseling. Whether it is advising by the individual lawyer and finding a solution for one specific question or the joint work on comprehensive interdisciplinary projects, this is all part of the firm's daily business. It is TSP's philosophy to provide a solid legal basis for our clients' objectives. Efficiency, creativity and in particular the quality of the legal work are of utmost importance.
