Prof. Dr. Ehrlich, Dietmar

(born 1941) Prof. Dr. Ehrlich studied law at the University of Würzburg until conferral of his doctorate. He was admitted to the German Bar in 1974. From 1972 until 2004 Prof. Dr. Ehrlich was member of the legal department of a large German bank where he held position as general counsel for many years. Since 1998, Prof. Dr. Ehrlich taught as lecturer at the Faculty of Economic Science of the University Tübingen. Since 2000, he teaches as honorary professor at the same faculty. In 2006, he joined Thümmel, Schütze & Partner as of-counsel for the areas of banking and capital markets law. He is the author of several publications in the area of banking law, in particular regarding external trade.
Areas of practice:
general banking law, with a focus on the law of loan agreements, collateral security and documentary collateral (guarantees).
