(born 1934) Professor Dr. Rolf A. Schütze studied at the Universities of Bonn, Freiburg/Breisgau, Geneva and Luxembourg. He was admitted to the German Bar in 1962. As an arbitrator he was involved as presiding arbitrator, arbitration tribunal member or sole arbitrator in more than 50 mostly international proceedings before ad-hoc and institutional arbitration courts (ICC, DIS, International Court of Arbitration at Vienna and Regional Center for Arbitration, Kuala Lumpur). In many other cases he acted as party representative before arbitration courts. Since 1973 he is a honorary professor at the University of Tübingen for international civil procedure law. He is a member of various professional associations, inter alia the International Bar Association, the German Society for Public International Law and the Academic Union for International Civil Procedure Law. Professor Dr. Schütze is the author of leading publications on international civil procedure law, banking law and arbitration.

international civil procedure law, banking law and arbitration. Professor Dr. Schütze advises predominantly domestic and foreign banks in particular on investments law and documentary collateral (guarantees, documentary credits).
